MEET THE TEAM
Kate Ziehm
Kate Ziehm is the President of Morning Ag Clips. She is originally from New Hampshire and graduated in 1997 from Cornell University with a degree in Animal Science and a concentration in ag business management. While attending Cornell, she was on the Cornell University Dairy Judging Team, President of the Cornell University Dairy Club, and in 1997 received the Richard M. Kossoff Business Planning & Entrepreneurship Award.
Kate resides in Greenwich, NY, with her three boys, Tyler, Jacob, and Samuel. She loves to be outside, whether walking, sporting, or stacking wood. Kate will always have time for a cup of coffee and a donut–especially if they are paired with her family and friends.
Brittany graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and continued her education with a Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture from University of Vermont. As managing editor at Morning Ag Clips, Brittany combines her background in publishing with her passion for agriculture to bring you the latest agriculture news, issues and editorials.
Patrick graduated from Morrisville State College and completed his bachelor’s in Journalism and Sport Management at SUNY Brockport. Patrick worked in public relations as well as in the landscaping industry before becoming an editor with Morning Ag Clips.
Kyle brings a wealth of personal and professional agricultural experience to Morning Ag Clips. He grew up on a dairy and crop farm in Fairfield County, Ohio, and still lives on the farm, where he has managed the dairy activities of the third-generation family operation since 2012. From 2001 to 2012, he was editor of Ohio’s Country Journal, a statewide agricultural publication. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agriculture and agricultural communication from Ohio State University.
Christa grew up on a horse farm in Greenwich, NY. She brings a wealth of experience to Morning Ag Clips with her hands-on knowledge. From paralegal to payroll to managing an office, treasurer for her son’s swim team, Boy Scout troop, and being a leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, Christa thrives on staying organized and focused. Just ask her family, and they will tell you that Mom loves everything in its place and getting everyone where they need to be!
With an AAS in marketing from Alfred State and a BA concentrated in Economics and Italian from UAlbany, Elisa went to work for a demolition and remediation company domestically and internationally. Now with a family full of boys, dogs, and cats, she has the time to enjoy gardening with her husband and playing with her kids. She will pickle and can just about anything that comes out of their garden and will share happily with friends.
Amy Colburn
Amy Colburn comes to Morning Ag Clips with experience as an advertising director with Fahy Williams Publishing, Inc. (located in upstate New York) for the last 7 years. FWPI has been publishing high-quality regional magazines, directories, and other publications for nearly 40 years. Prior to working at FWPI, Amy spent 15 years as an independent mural artist in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York in communities like Canandaigua and Rochester. She also enjoys standup paddleboarding in the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks, gardening, and creating in her art studio.
Margaret grew up on her family’s farm, raising chickens, pigs, beef cows, and, Margaret’s personal favorite, dairy cattle. Margaret now owns a small herd of Ayrshire cattle along with a few Brown Swiss. Margaret pursued her love for agriculture at SUNY Cobleskill, where she received an Associates degree in Ag Business and a Bachelors degree in Animal Science. Margaret is still home on the farm in Greenwich, NY, milking in the same parlor, but now getting to milk a few of her own cows when she’s not busy with social media, eNewsletters, ad design, and whatever other tasks come up.
Naomi LaRose
Naomi LaRose has two thumbs but she’s sorry to say that neither one is green. While gardening may not be her forte, she’s an avid reader, writer, and works a second job at the local YMCA, where she fulfills many roles, including group-exercise instructor and front-desk representative. A graduate from SUNY Albany with a B.A. in English and journalism, Naomi is a valued team member at Morning Ag Clips. When not working, you can find her exploring with her husband, son, and dog.
Carol Hancock
Carol is a graduate of Union College where she studied mathematics. Prior to joining MAC, Carol worked with a technology consulting company where she developed a passion for program management. She uses her project management experience to support her clients as well as volunteer organizations in her community.
Lila Nolan
Lila Nolan graduated from Siena College with a BS in Business with Concentrations in Fundamentals of Finance and Digital Marketing, as well as a Minor in Writing. She grew up on a dairy farm in Eagle Bridge NY, where she and her family raise show cows that they compete with nationally. Lila combines her knowledge of farming and SEO to help with social media management, writing, and whatever tasks may come her way.
Trixie, Director of Pawsitivity
Trixie Belden Ziehm, named after the book series, came to the Morning Ag Clips as a puppy in the spring of 2016. She has played a very important role in our organization since. Trixie is often found moving from desk to desk offering up a warm soft surface for the team to pet. She takes her role with the Morning Ag Clips very seriously and willingly greets all those that walk through our door with wags and wiggles from head to toe, looking fondly into the eyes of all that lay a hand on her. Always searching for that tummy rub, her happy demeanor can’t help but put a smile on everyone’s face. She is also great at multi-tasking, cleaning the floor up after every coffee break, working lunch, or business meeting, she is never far from her duties. We are happy to have her on our team.
