EATON, Colo. — The Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (CFVGA) will hold its 11th annual conference, Feb. 18-19, 2025, at the Westin Hotel in Westminster, Colo. CFVGA was established in 2014 as the only organization in the state representing all sizes, types and varieties of produce growers. Anyone with a stake in the Colorado produce industry is invited to attend.
“CFVGA continues to grow in numbers, activities and influence,” said Adrian Card, CFVGA founding Board member and chair of the CFVGA conference planning committee. “We are excited to be able to bring produce growers and allied industries supporting Colorado growers this great content to help them succeed in their operations.”
The conference kicks off at 11:30am on Feb. 18, 2025 with a luncheon and membership meeting, open to all. The schedule continues into early evening the same day, resumes early morning on day two and concludes by 3pm, Feb. 19, 2025.
The conference will feature a wide variety of educational breakout sessions, including heat illness prevention for farm workers, building climate resilience, alternative crops, agritourism, putting crop research data to work, tips for direct marketing of produce, the new rule from the U.S. Department of Labor for H-2A workers, food safety trainings, the latest in ag tech, sprayer calibration, and more. Plenary sessions include results of a public attitudes on agriculture survey presented by Dawn Thilmany, CSU Extension, remarks from CSU Ag Sciences’ new dean, Caroline Lawrence Dill, and comments from Jason Ullmann, Colorado’s new water engineer.
The conference will close with the ever-population grower-buyer networking session, designed to bring together produce buyers and growers of fruits and vegetables for possible business opportunities. Just prior to the grower-buyer session, Carley Smith, aka the Fairy Gutmother, will talk about the important role local produce plays in gut health. The presentation is funded by a Specialty Crop Block Grant through the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
In addition to educational sessions, the conference features extended time designed to provide plenty of networking time and opportunities for attendees to visit with exhibitors. CFVGA expects to have 40 or more exhibitors with everything from crop inputs, the latest in ag tech and services vital to Colorado’s produce industry.
Registration is now open for individuals and for organizations and companies to become part of the line-up of exhibitors. More details at the conference website: https://site.
