ARLINGTON, Va. — AgGateway is pleased to announce that ten college students have been selected to attend the organization’s Annual Conference in November through the Gateway to Ag Careers program.
Supported by AgCIO Roundtable, the Premier Sponsor, with additional support from Syngenta, the Gateway to Ag Careers program offers students the opportunity to attend learning sessions and network with attendees at the AgGateway Annual Conference while making valuable contacts with agriculture industry leaders.
The AgGateway Annual Conference will be held 11 – 13 November in Austin, Texas USA.
“We’re excited to be hosting these exceptional students, who represent some of the best and brightest young talent from leading educational institutions,” says Brent Kemp, AgGateway President and CEO. “As they finalize their career plans, we are pleased to offer them the opportunity to discover the breadth of options available in agriculture, and in particular ag technology. Their presence also serves to inspire our attendees as we work toward improving digital interoperability.”
“We’ve supported the Gateway to Ag Careers program because we as industry leaders must nurture the interest that students have expressed in agriculture,” says Jeroen Hoogendoorn, Vice President, IT Business Relationship Management and Quality Assurance at CHS Inc. and President of the AgCIO Roundtable. “This year was the most competitive group of applications we’ve ever received, demonstrating the high level of interest in high-tech agriculture. We are looking forward to hosting these outstanding individuals at the AgGateway Annual Conference.”
The application process required each student to submit an essay explaining what they hoped to gain by attending the AgGateway Annual Conference. Academic advisors and others had the opportunity to provide supporting information to accompany the application.
At the Conference, the students will make individual presentations at a special session during the conference to share their work, ambitions, and interests in the agriculture industry.
The ten recipients represent five different academic institutions from across the country. They are as follows:
- Elicia Baranowski, Iowa State University
