WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Changing consumer preferences, international tariffs, and farm-consolidation at the national level have created opportunities for market growers to profit from garlic. So, are you interested in getting started with garlic production? Do you already grow garlic and are looking for better ways to market it? If so, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is offering a Garlic Cultivation and Marketing program that may be for you! This FREE workshop will discuss varieties, cultivation methods, storage considerations, integrated pest management, sales opportunities, marketing (direct, wholesale, and cooperative), and branding.
The program will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10AM-12PM at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County offices located at 203 North Hamilton St. Watertown, NY 13601. Veterans and Military Families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
